IF it works on a switch only the handshake on the ethernet level seems to work ok, so you can forget about that further.
What i not understand is that if you plug both M devices in a switch they do work. That should mean it does not need a dynamic IP address (or it remembers the one it got previously when it was connected to the router)
If you have only issues when the router is connected to the network, the IP adresses (Layer 3) can give you issues.
I would start to look at the HDCP lease time. If that would be an issue (it should not) your problems would exactly relate to the time setup there (like 10 minutes)
If the lease expires, it should be renewed by the client which than should get the same address. This would only work i assume if the M box starts up. I see no way the router could block a host using a expired address, as the address would still be valid in the network.
What could happen is that if the lease time is short and the units would request a other address they get a new address. That they possibly would loose track of each other unitl you rediscover or whatever that is called in the Soolos world.
For home use with a few devices you could set up the DHCP lease time to 1 year or even longer to avoid these kind of problems.
Other IP problem could be: duplicate adresses. But it would be very strange if that happens every time after 2 - 3 songs, so i would not expect that.
If you have a PC on the same network, you could try to PING the M boxes and do that also if it stops working. If you than still can reach the M boxes, they do not have a IP conflict at that time.
If the ping stops, try to ping the other adresses (perhaps find a ping tool that pings the whole range and displays info on what devices aswers the ping) to find which IP adresses the units have.
