Sorry for this basic question, but I'm not in a position to set up a test at home at the moment.
I'm thinking of piping the output from my main speakers into a second zone. The cabling is much simpler if I can just take the feed from the digital out on my slave DSP rather than come out of the processor.
Can anyone confirm that the digital out on the slave carries the full L/R signal ? And what happens if you mute the speakers - does it cut the signal at the SPDIF or mute the drivers internally in some way ?
Many thanks
Mark

As each DSP needs typed as right or left I would expect the digital out to be the same as the input. It doesn't really make sense to pull out the other channel when the DAC in the next speaker will do that anyway?
As to what happens when you press mute, sorry you'd need to try it and see. I'm using a battered 562v2 just now that sulks if you connect it to Meridian Comms however as long as it can see the IR emitter from the remote it works just as well without, long story short if you press mute on the 562 the rest of the system doesn't respond and important for you it doesn't mute. Cannot guarentee this isn't just odd behaviour of my 562 and the digital to your DSPs would mute. Try it and see, and let us know because it's an interesting idea. Except of course you'll only get out what was being fed to that pair of DSPs, so no damned use if you're wanting to feed off your rears, not perfect if you're feeding off your mains and listen in Trifield....

Yes a slave or master will output Both the COM input and the Digital Input. You can have a "Mirror" pair of the Fronts else where. Keep in mind if it's MHR in, it's gonna be MHR out too.
