Hi, I have just received my Oppo BDP83SE and ... failed miserably to setup a multi-analog link between the player and my G68ADV. I have added a blu-ray player device, that shows 3 stereo analog output, linked the 3 output of the player to the A1/A2/A3 input of the MA1 but the G68 is not considering this as a multi-analog 5.1 input Serge.

Make sure you connect a MULTICHANNEL Analog Out to a MULTCHANNEL Analog In (MA1) You should not be connecting A1,A2,A3 but MA1 (Once).

Thanks Georges. In fact, i have to create a new connection in my new source. And then choose 'multichannel analog' type. After that, the link manipulated is a 6 channels analog one than can be linked to the MA1 input Serge.

Are you saying that's what you did and it still did not work?
A Default Blu-Ray player in M-Config has the correct MultiCHannel Analog output and you should not have to add the connection.
Also may sure things are setup correctly in the player. Analog output may have to be enabled.

Georges, it's working fine now. But i had to add a multichannel output to the default blu-ray player.

I was reading this about the BDP83 multi-analog output : http://watershade.net/wmcclain/BDP-83-faq.html#what-are-the-proper-subwoofer-lfe-settings The only exception to doing analog bass management in the player occurs with a few expensive receivers that can redigitize the analog inputs. In those cases, the user should set speakers to large and output levels to 0db, which allows the AVR to handle bass management. The Oppo outputs analog LFE -10db when speakers are set to large and -15db when any speakers are set to small. With analog, the user needs to apply the 10db or 15db boost in his receiver or at the sub itself. Unlike digital, where the AVR software applies the needed boost, most receivers do not do this by default with analog. It's up to the user to apply it himself. With the G68 that redigitize the multi-analog input, i have set the speakers to large in the BDP83 setup, with the same 0db output level and 0 meters distance for all. So, in this case, the SW output of the player is 10db lower than the FL/C/FR/SL/SR. But, if my memory is correct, it is impossible to add level to the SW output in Mconfig. The software only allows to lower the SW level. Is there a way to manage this +10db SW level with the G68 ? (without lowering the level of 5 other channels ) Serge.

You can change the SW Level in the Cinema and Discrete presets. Keep in mind Music (DVDA) is different.
It's a good idea to get a calibration disc to verify you got all right and you have to be cause that you know what the calibration disc is supposed to output.

Sorry George but i can only lower the SW level. For example the Discrete mode is set to -10db. The cinema mode is set to 0db.
The BDP83 is outputing the LFE channel at -10db. So i need a +10db boost.
Serge.

Serge, I don't believe you can do this in the G68. You'll need to set all speakers as large with zero distance, and apply a +10dB trim in the LFE channel in the Oppo.

At least thats one advantage of the'Oppo BDP80-like' Cambridge Audio Bluray player - LFE is not attenuated on the multi ch. analogue outputs. I don't know whether it is on the actual BDP80. I hope the BDP83 does allow a + 10db increase for LFE so that you can sort it out.
