My limited understanding of ICE economics leads me to believe that the venture is purely designed to generate leads for main system sales. If Meridian is truly taking a long term perspective on generation of sales through brand development and awareness, then it is probably doing the right thing. However, I think we've seen enough incompetence to question that.

On topic, I am eagerly waiting to see if Bob is going to cash those cheques that he wrote publicly. However, I'm pretty sure he doesn't call the shots any more, even if he is periodically wheeled out for newspaper interviews.

Its after Christmas now so no more pressies.
I heard somewhere that Uncle Bob said that hi-res hifi is dead since the public are happy with compressed music and most delivery channels are now compressed. This would suggest that he might be disinclined to invest further in hi-res and therefore no more "pressies"(upgrades).

I tried recently to find a piece of popular dance music in anything but MP3 and couldnt. The best I could find was 320kbps MP3 - which is claimed to be hi-res?
Another interesting article in the music press was the further demise of the CD with most major firms abandoning the CD and moving to compressed downloads. So again no source for higher bandwidth files. Good news is Absolute radio is currently streaming in Ogg-FLAC but so far as I know the only station you can stream to the SB is the Czech one. Does anyone have a way of streaming Absolute to their Meridian system or SB?

Sorry back OT. Trifield G68 yes please - when maybe never. Meridian in RR = ego trip/marketing. Linn/Mark Levinson/Bose/Bang & Olufson/B&W etc have already done it. How about Meridian touch display or app for remote control and access to messages from Controller to DSPs for the display.

Happy Christmas.

My G68 feels like one of the misfit toys in rudolf.

- Fiddler (IMHO)

If you think listening to music is fun, try learning an instrument.
