Hi there, I am a newbie in Meridian and this is my first post and I like to say I am glad to be part of this community.
I have finally got my 861V6 2 days ago to complete my Meridian system consisting of :
Sooloos Control:10 + TwinStore Oppo BD 83 going into HD HD621 808.3 (Sooloos into ID40 card of the 808.3) 861 V6 (ordered with Sooloos card but M sent without it so waiting for the card) DSP 8000 L+R + DSP7200HC + DSP 7200 Rears
Prior to arrival of 861V6 I have been using loaned G68R for about a month and have run rc in the G68R several times with no problem.
I have tried a couple of times to run RC on the 861 using cable connected to input A1 of card IA04 to RS analog set at slow and C weighted, this is as per default of the mconfig. I kept getting reading of power at -48 and snr at zero so not able to do anything with the rc. With the G68R i was able to get SNR of 45-50 range with power at -23 to -24 with RS set at 80 db.
What did i do wrong? Appreciate help/suggestion.
Thanks,
808.3, Control 10/twinstore, OPPO BD 83, 621, 861 V6, DSP 8000, DSP 7200HC, DSP 7200

That's usually an indication of your on the wrong channel or something. There are tips in the wiki about getting "better" numbers http://www.meridianunplugged.com/wi...0Room%20Correction%20Tips%20and%20TricksBut if your getting nothing something is not setup right. You might check the voltage input level you have set on on Meridian side and experiment with that. There is also trouble shooting in the online help in Mconfig

Congratulations to your system. Why you want two ID40 Sooloos cards?
problems with RC You can adjust the sensivity of the IA04 in mconfig. Try to get to lower voltages-which voltage do you have now in mcconfig for the sensivity of the IA04 ?

George,
Thanks for the advise. I went through all the connection again today(done that many times last night) and finally found out that the cable is plugged at the right place but on the 808.3 instead of the 861 v6, LOL.... amateurish mistake.
Robert,
Decided to take the ID40 at the 861 as well since in the future I may use the 808.3 in the living room while keeping the rest in a dedicated music/av room.
I still have problems with comm (not uniform response on L front and the other 4 speakers) and still having problem with getting RC completed as after L and R measurement, the center and the rears wont receive proper comm and remain at 50 db instead of 87 db like the LR. My DSP 8000 does not have SpeakerLink so I am using AC12 for LR with L speaker set as master. Connection is as exactly The AC12 manual. Going thru the AC12 blues thread now to try find the solution. will post there if can;t solve it.

The volume get stacked at 50 for the center and rears when you PLAY CD ?Or its ONLY in setting up the RC? Whcih voltage sensisivity do you have on the I04 ? Which error message do you get ? Do you get the test noise during the calibration only for the R/L or and the center and rears? Is you failure in speaker calibration or in RC? Robert

with current connection, my center, right and rear speakers does not always follow the 808.3, 861 and left speaker volume so during rc process when the volume reset to 50 and then 87 just before the test noise, the left speakers went up to 87 db while all the other speakers stayed at 50db. when i play CD or Sooloos i can try to adjust the volume up and down and after a few tries i can get the volume to get into the same level. so the rc is working properly now but failed for the reason that center speakers and rear wont automatically adjust volume to 87 durign the process.

It sounds like you have two 'controllers' in the system. Put it all in standby and press the clear button on the remote noting what each componet sayes, and the master speaker (you do only have one master speaker set don't you) The 861 should show controller on its display, and the other comonents should show non-controller. Rick, Yes, I only have one master speaker which is the front left DSP8000. Tried the clear button a couple of times, although strangely it was hard to get the master speaker (left front) to show non controller, it was not the case when i used the G68r. But even after the master speaker shows non controller the problem remains.

Do you have ?: 1. The front left set as master in the config program? This can sometime default to Centre. 2. You point the MSR at electronics AND this speaker when you press clear, so they can all receive the 'clear' command directly from the MSR. 3. The speakerlink cable for this AC12 front pair of DSP8000 connected to the 'Master' column of speakerlink connectors on the 861. (The ones with the green stripe next to them) 4. You are using either an M lead from the AC12 to the front left DSP 8000 with the pins linked in the S connector, or with an S lead with the S din cut off and replaced with a BNC connected to the Master BNC on the AC12. (AS per AC12 blues) 5. You have the two DSP 8000 connected together with S comms and then another S Comms from the right DSP8000 back into the S comms socket on the AC12. Rick

The answers are yes to 1,2,3 and 5. At the moment i am using M lead from ac12 to front left DSP8000 but not sure if the pins linked in the S connector (the dealer supplied that M lead). I am going to replace the M lead with S lead tonight when i get home, will use din to bnc adapter at the ac12 end. Will report back after. Thanks for the suggestion.

Over the weekend, I changed the M lead to S lead from AC12 to the Front left DSP 8000 and changed the DIN to BNC at the AC12 end using DIN to BNC adapter. With this connection, I still could not get the C, RF and Rears speakers in sync with the 808.3/861/LF master. Sometimes I need to press source button twice or 3 times before the C,RF and Rears turned on and after that the volume on these speakers will not follow the 808.3/861/LF master. I could somtimes get the volume all at the same level after pushing the volume button up and down many times.
M, thru the dealer, suggested changing the Center as master speaker. With Center set as master and using the same S lead with adapter from AC12 to Front Left (now its a slave) but taking off the S comm from the right DSP8000 back into the S comms socket on the AC12, the system works perfectly, just as described in the ac 12 blues thread.
This is not ideal for me, though, as I like to play direct from 808.3 and Sooloos via ID40 in the 808.3 to the L+R speakers which needs one of the LR speakers set as master using D2 input at the DPS 8000. Any ideas on how to overcome this problem?
