I've just sent an email to Meridian support about this, but was wondering if anyone else has hit a similar problem.
Simply put, I cannot get DD5.1 from a DVD when using the "DVD" source. With exactly the same settings as used for the DVD source on both the 565 (software version 4.4) and the 562V3, but using the "Laserdisc" source, I get 5.1.
I did not have this problem before I added the 562V3 to my system - very, very odd.

Gerald, what's your DVD player? I have the 586 and find I need to retype it from time to time to get 5.1 recognized.

Hi there -
Sorry for the tardy response - been away for a few days. The DVD player is a Pioneer DV656. Naturally it would be great to have a Meridian player, but at the moment there are other priorities for my wallet!
I haven't had a chance to investigate the problem further, although did have an email exchange with Dave Hall at Meridian. He's sent me the latest eprom for the 565, so I'll see next week if this helps.
