Hi Robbo,
I suspect they are very similar and based on the 861v6 OA18 card. However, as we know Meridian always puts more attention to the fine details in their 800 series products.

Well they did not change the multi channel digital input on the G68SL to include MMHR, so I am not so sure about it.

Yeah the 861V6 needed a new OA18 card for the new buss. But the G68SL may still have a G68XXL vintage balanced card.
Curious if the 861V6 has more mips buried in there. It would amaze me if it didn't since more mips could be used for so many things. Even it was just a faster clocked chip with similar pinout and backwards compatible they could still run existing code for while.
They may play the same game as they did with G61R and upgrade it's public specs later.

Sir, I'm a little confused. Are you saying that the the new G68Sl update is the SpeakerLink and not the internal electronics. So Merdian is using old parts in the new G68SL. Please clarify.
Thanks
Jose

Jose,
It's not even clear what the heck you even bought.
One minute it's a G68ADV next minute it's a G68SL.
Meridian does no reinvent the whole wheel on every release of something.
There products constantly overlap.
It's certainly not 100% from the ground up new.
Does it have new DACs? I have no idea.
But I certainly would not assume it does.

For the different versions look here: http://www.Meridian-audio.info/show.php?compid=25So the SL version has the new clocking system (confirmed in the brochure) and the SpeakerLink outputs. Still curious to know what version the balanced outputs card are. Since no mention of them have been made in the brochure I assume the are the regular G68OAX. I can imagine Meridian giving the 861v6 the premiere for new innovations, both marketing-wise as in the ability to have production keep up with the demand. I can imagine them giving the G68 SpeakerLink output, as this will have the customers focus on DSP loudspeaker. And I can only hope onces the 861/808 dust settles down, the G68 will also get the MMHR input. For me as a G68 owner, having a G68SL with both MMHR and OA18 based balanced cards on the market will definitely make me put Meridian on my new processor short-list. The current G68SL was a real let down for me for not having the MMHR. So not much incentive there to upgrade to that.

Robbo, Thanks for the info. I find myself reading through the different threads trying to understand the G68Sl. I want to make sure its correctly installed when I receive the unit.
Thanks
