It sounds like you are happy with what you have so it's probably not worth the money. But if you want to indulge yourself, go ahead.

Once you get to a certain stage in this hobby, nothing is worth the money. You have to justify the purchases with other reasons.

May be worth listing your kit in your profile so people can advise a bit better. If you already have certain pieces (min entry = 568.2mm) then the entry cost to HD audio is, via HD621, based on RRP of new kit, relatively inexpensive, although if you entered via 2nd hand prices, will seem expensive as the HD621 is relatively new so limited 2nd hand availability.

I dont have the new HD formats yet, but everyone I know who has says there is a substantial difference, well worth having. That said, the question then is 'at what price' ?

There is a difference in film soundtracks (IMO particularly in the bass presentation) from DD/DTS to HD audio. IMO they do sound better but nothing like the video improvement BD gives over SD.

So, what do you need to spend? Basically a HD621 at whatever price you can get one for.
