I have a 568.2mm, modified Clux and 3xM33 speakers. I am not happy with the overall sound and suspect my room would benefit from room correction.
I have tried moving the speakers and believe the room is the problem. Room size is 14ft wide, 9.5ft deep and 8ft high. The front speakers are positioned approx 7.5ft in front.
I listen mostly to music (Trifield)
I am considering buying a second hand G61r/G68 and hope the mrc would make an improvement.
Alternatively, would adding a HD621 to the 568.2 offer a sonic improvement over buying a G61R/G68 with it's mrc. I can only afford either the HD621 or a G61R/G68. Advice is much appreciated.

In what way are you not happy??
Too boomy?? Not enough bass?? To bright?? To dark??
Adding an HD621 will add a little, but not sort out big problems??
Now, the first Meridian speakers I heard were M33's and I have to be honest and say it put me off M speakers for a very long time, nothing wrong with them, but play them quietly and there is no weight and warmth, crank them up to where you start to get some weight and they are starting to sound a little shrill.
You need a sub with them, are you using one??
Even a used 150 rel Strata would be a perfect match, just something to give them a little help filling the room and letting them crossover a little higher.

DSP or M33's definately need a sub in some form. When I moved I disconnected my sub many months prior as the cabling strung round the walls was distracting for home viewings The loss of the sub made a big difference especially when I sold my processor and dsp33's and ended up with just a pair of M33's.

That's a pretty small room, and you're likely to have a lot of room modes, which moving your speakers about is slightly alleviating. I'd read the info (and use the calculator) on http://www.realtraps.com/modecalc.htm and http://www.atsacoustics.com etc and if you are open to it consider buying 100ukp of fibreglass / rockwool and play around with what makes your room sound better. Or put that 100 into a mic+preamp and download the free REW tool and really measure what's going on

Thank you for the replies.
I find the sound somewhat flat and uninvolving.
I do have a sub but I thought to use it only when I watch a DVD. Can I use the sub when listening to music. I thought the sub only worked in Cinema mode.

Sub works in stereo too, it is bypassed in Direct.
When you set up the 568 with the software you can set the crossover point for music and movies seperately, on the M33's I would try setting it for 80hz for movies and start at 60hz for music and have a play from there.
