Hello,
I'm puzzled about one question. When you rip CD's using - for example - EAC in the highest possible way, does the apodizing filters then having an real effect when playing back (via - for example - Kaleidescape server and mediaplayer)? It's my understanding so far that the data of a ripped CD is superior to the original, because the original has to be read optically and doesn't benefit from correction by software). So, if my understanding is right, does the apodizing filters have any effect?
Gr. Paul.

The Apodizing filters removes the pre-ringing and that is something EAC does nothing about (and it's purpose is not to).

Don't confuse read errors with recording errors. EAC does it's best on read errors. Apodizing helps correct recoring errors.
