Hi Guys

Looking for a single S5 lead for connection speaker to speaker.

I can swop for a processor to speaker S5 lead as I ended up with 2 when I bought my 3 DSP's so can only use 2 of the 3 at the moment!

Hi gavp,

I just found I was short an S5 cable myself.

Searched this forum and found:

https://www.meridianunplugged.com/u...bb=showflat&Number=93240&fpart=1

so I decided to risk it with an old (I mean 1970s) analogue tape recorder 5-pin DIN-to-DIN lead.

It worked!

I use the M5 lead for the SPDIF signal and run the DIN-to-DIN lead for comms alongside.

Or friends at www.maplins.co.uk will sell you a 5 metre DIN-to-DIN for 12.99 here:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1096

but I have not tried this one.

Usual caveats apply. Try this at your own risk. The manual is very clear about not conecting audio DIN leads to the speaker but I suspect that means don't connect an audio signal DIN lead.

I have just subtituted the Maplins part no L57BA (5 metre DIN-to-DIN lead) for the old DIN-to-DIN lead. It works fine. I also tested the Maplins part no JB22Y (a male to male 5-pin DIN coupler) joining the two cables and that works fine too.

These tests were as the Slave lead between two rear speakers but I can't see any reason why the wouldn't work between Master speaker and processor (also a Slave lead situation) or for extending the Slave end of a Master lead.

Gavp,

I am heading to the UK soon so I could bring an S5 lead with me to mail to you and swap it for your M lead. How long is it ?

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers,

Steve

You can cheat temporarily and run two Master cables out of the Preamp.
For example one to Master Center and another to a Master Left (or Right).
I've done it and it works, but I don't recommend it long term.
