There is some info in the wiki for MRC mics.
The radio shack spl meter is probably the cheapest/easiest to use. And you should have an spl meter to calibrate system before running MRC anyway !!
Yes, you can create a filter profile from scratch without a mic and fiddle around.

Hi V
I have tried boundry settings, Free gives way too much resonance on those tracks rhat give that type of base, corner drops the resonance to an acceptable level but I seem to loose alot of standard base.
I am interested in adjusting my own decay times until I get a SPL Meter. At the moment I am a little confused by all the settings. Where in wiki does it explaing forcing decay times for the speakers.
Regards Simon
Don't you just hate to buy something described as mint condition and you find what they actually meant was polo mint (with holes).

You can't set decay times without a Mic (a room measurement). The Decay Time is a parameter to the processing that takes your measurement data and the decay time and generates filters. You can generate the filters manually with no measurement data. But you can't work with the decay time without a measurement. http://www.meridianunplugged.com/wiki/index.php?pagename=BestMrcProcedureI highly advise you just go get an SPL meter. You'll be shooting in the dark.

Thanks V
I had already tried these settings, I guess wall is boundry. I thought there may have been something else I had not understood about these speakers.
I will get an SPL and see what can be done.

Thanks george As mentioned to V, I will get an SPL meter and see how that goes.

I find connecting direct a bit harsher. G68ADV/861 seems to take the edge off.
But I agree with your point, how many variables did you change at a time.
And is the G61R properly configured. Maybe G61 has them set small with a non existent sub. George Due to the problems with low end base I have been having, I took the bull by the horns and got an old Laptop working with serial port. I was able to setup everything using MConfig. It has made a world of difference. The speakers are sounding much better. I am not sure what was causing the resonant base but its all but gone and the very deep but tight base is still there. I guess it was some setting that I missed when using the buttons of the G61r to setup the system. I will still get an SPL mtr to finish off, but at the moment I am very happy. Regards Simon
