Apart from additions of missing generics (BD, SACD, etc.), would you be happy if you could buy a second set of duplicate keys? I already have a second set through having two MSR+. This doesn't help as I now have two sets of the same keys. I still think key marked WMD would satisfy my quest for world domination... dpstjp
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Well, Its great to see so many people using the MSR+ and looking forward to continue doing so in the future. Meridian May have a brand new remote comming to make the whole discussion obsolete anyway, we wait with anticipation, Cheers, Chris
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

On a somewhat related note, I seem to remember Meridian promising to look into whether it would be possible/practical to increase the number of usable inputs/sources on the processors to more than the number of source keys on the MSR+ at an earlier Q&A session (2008?). Could someone attending HH2 ask about this?

I already have a key marked 'iPod', this is I presume a trade name so would suggest that other trade names could be used?

I'd have thought brand names were subject to copyright constraints?

Trying recal where the iPod button came from, have an i80 F80 dock so think it came supplied as part of this. Perhaps this expains why M were able to licence use of the name on the button.

I am going to be the voice of difference...I much prefer generic descriptors so that when I change kit there is no programming that neeeds to be redone...one example that comes to mind is that I changed from DVD a player to a Blu0ray player and because my buttons on my Crestron system were labelled Video Disk (rather than Blu-ray, DVD, HD DVD, etc.) there were no button / graphic changes needed...so for me I want buttons such as:
-- Music Server -- Video Disk -- Video Server -- Etc.
And, just to close the loop, as I will be moving house in the near term I would liek to get back to using the MSR as I am not sure that I am up for another Crestron install..
Audio: Triad Monitor Golds, Surround Golds, Silver Subwoofers; Procella P-18 Subwoofer; QSC DCA 16622s, 1644, 3422, BASIS 922uz; ADA MACH IV B Other: APC S-15s; Crestron Sources and Video: Ran out of characters .....................

May I add:
VLC Inst (for instrument) Rev (for reverb) Dry (term for no effect used) Wet (term for effects used)
And please for the next firmware or MSR+ model, please make balance directly accessible with direct keys.

Suppose I were M and having seen this thread, I would order a couple of thousand of those blank keys in different shiny colors right away. Fanatics would be able to specify color & engraving, put their orders in through a separate section of the website, pay upfront including posting & packaging (a small envelop would do perfectly) and shortly after have their own customised keys for their remotes.
Eventually they might even be traded at a premium through this website.
Happy pimping!
