It is actually Cat7 the Meridian SpeakerLink Cable on reels.

I remember having to help specify it with Richard Hollinshead at Meridian and doing listing tests. It does matter, for the extra edge of performance.

I have crimp and cable here so if anyone ever wants a patch lead or two doing let me know.

Thanks
Edd

I'm also planning to have the electronics in a hall cupboard and (single) run speakerlink to wall plates and then shorter cables to the speakers however I suspect not using wall plates would provide the best signal path. Does anyone have experience of this setup and how bad or not is this arrangement?

Thanks

Chris

Does the Cat7 Meridian replace the original flat SpeakerLink cable or is there a reason for them both?

After reading this I will go back and home run my cables now as I had originally daisy chained. I'm intrigued now 😂

Kind regards
David

The flat is classed as Cat6 compared to the round which is Cat7.

I have always installed with the Cat7 spec cable.
