Do I need anything special for the SpeakerLink to SPDIF, or do "off-the-shelf" electronics work. I've found a cat-5 to XLR adapter, and an XLR 110ohm to SPDIF (BNC) 75ohm adapter. Is that all I need? (Not worried about comms).

Sescom SES-AES-EBU-1 XLRF to 75 Ohm BNC Female AES/EBU Impedance Transformer

Then I got some BNC to RCA adapters. Is this going to work?

Hi,

I thought you were looking at using Revivers, but if you’re looking at a DIY options then Google searching the forum is your friend ...

check out SpeakerLink used as Digital Out (XLR or SPDIF) plus COMMS and RS232.

Regards,
Carl

Yes, but reading that I wasn't sure if the components listed above are all I need.
(I think I saw Fiddler soldering resistors into one of the XLR transformers, in another thread, and wasn't sure if that was necessary.)

Answer: yes it is necessary. Haven't soldered anything in thirty years, so we'll see how this goes!
