I have yet another Sooloos component acting strangely.

I have rehabilitated a Source:Five but it is only appearing on the device page as "Secondary" instead of as a "Zone" or endpoint. It does not list any of the 5 possible zones either.

It does give me an option to use as a core (which I didn't know a Source could do). I have tried checking the "core" box and it indeed functions fine as a core when I turn off my Control:10. I was hoping it might fall into line after I unchecked use as core box but it does not...just comes back as "Secondary".

If I go to it via Sooloos Configuration, it says only "nothing to configure" when I click on it.

Help.

Title says “Store Five (discs) behaving strangely?”, body mentions “Source:Five” (audio)?

Sound like whatever you have is behaving like a store might.

Sorry... thanks for pointing that out. It is a Source:Five, as in 5 analogue outputs and 1 digital.

I am also working on a Store:One that's having some problems so I must have had that on my brain when I started the thread.

Indeed my question is about my Source:Five that is only letting me select it as a core or not as a core, but no option or way to make the zones appear for selection.

So a source 5 seems to have morphed into a store?

You definitely don’t have a store on network and are mistakenly looking at that?

Ian,

Not really... I just realized that all Sources can be used as a core (didn't know that as I've always used my Control:10 as core).

100% sure I am looking at the correct unit on my network. It appears in the device manager as "Source:Five" with correct IP and MAC to confirm it is indeed the correct piece of equipment.

I think the only think it's not doing is showing any of the 5 zones that should be available. I'm wondering if it is something internal. Perhaps the output board died?

SOLVED.

It was indeed the Hammerfall output board. I swapped out with a different board and all 5 zones are now appearing as they should. Logical explanation. The fact that it had the option to use as a core threw me off.
