Hello

I passed my F80 on to my daughter in Cardiff. She reports that it sounds wonderful but refuses to play a number of her CDs. Some work perfectly as do DVDs others work after three or four attempts. I used it with an MS200 so wasn't aware of this.

Normally I'd just clean the laser etc but this is slot loading and taking it apart is too much for her (I'm in Spain).

Any suggestions? Cleaning disc?

Thanks

Neil

Hi,

Yep I have the same problem with my F80 it doesn't play certain CDs for example last night went to play ZZ Top's Eliminator from ZZ Top box set, the F80 just would not play it.

I tried to clean the CD popped it back in still no luck, so I put on the original CD and it played it fine... it's very strange indeed.

I've no idea why but there are a few CDs I have that just won't play on the F80...

Maybe that's a copyright disc?

Some CDs have "additional content" included and they can confuse some drives.

I have a ZZ Top disc ("Mescalero", I think) that had such content and was problematic to rip.

Hi

We have had good experience with slot loaders using this CD Cleaner.

If not we do have some of these drives available but they are in short supply.

Regards
Edd

Thanks Edd, and everyone else, for your suggestions. I have her try that.
