Ian (MI') has made balanced cables for that type of connection before, I think it was for a 101B preamp though*.

All the best,

Steve

Thanks people, it is an MCA Pre with CD and MM module, just trying to figure out whether it's worth the time to check them out to confirm working or see if anyone wants the pre or the M20s and sell.

" I don't need them BUT I like them .. "

If you can prove they work, you’ll get more for them, otherwise it may be a case of sold as seen.

All the best,

Steve

Well they work as does the pre amp, next question is ...

Is it possible to use powered speakers when you already have a powered amp in the system. I love my Beolab and have everything running through it already but unsure as to whether the M20s could be used. Apologies if these are idiot questions - I'm learning as I go

The Beolab 5000 has line outputs, I'm not sure if these are volume controlled, if they are, it's a simple matter of plugging in to these outputs.

If the Line out is fixed, you can still use the 'speaker outputs to drive the M20s, you will need a voltage dropper, something like this will do the job.

All the best,

Steve
