Hi,

so I have to skip my G02 for repairs. I was thinking to put the analog output from the G68 directly to a G57.
Is that possible?

Normally the G02 sits in between, with the G68 at vol 90 and the G02 (for normal listening) around 50.
Before I restart dismantling my wife shrank for nothing, I´d rather ask somebody. (Probebly get killed otherwise)

Thanks
Andreas

Hi Andreas

I've seen the 568.2 processor used successfully as an analogue preamp, so I'm sure the G68 can be used similarly, directly into your G57. Without the additional box, it may even sound better too...

Cheers

George

Isn't that exactly how it is meant to be used? My x68's were connected directly to analogue active rears, and it never occurred to me had the fronts been analogue that anything other a poweramp in whatever form would have been needed. Certainly no preamp and as George implies, a preamp is likely to only get in the way.

OK

I think you got my Mail for the G02.

I will try, if it is not working, I'm blaming you for that (just kidding)

We will see, will tell about the result.

I was almost certain about that, but as my experience with G products was short lived (both times!) I didn't want to speak out of turn! laugh

I (maybe incorrectly) would assume that the G02 was used for analogue sources, allowing these to skip the A-D / D-A conversion within the G68.

My comment was just from the viewpoint of it being feasible to run a power amp directly from the G68's analogue outputs. I completely agree that there is a rationale for an all analogue path too.

If you do get your G02 fixed, you probably want to set the G68 to volume 87 which is unity gain.
