My DSP8K's produce great base, but have always wanted more for watching movies. Recently I purchased a pre-owned SW5500.

I daisy chained Master 5500HC Dig Out to SW5500 Dig in.

5500HC comms out to comms in on SW5500.
Comms out of SW5500 back to 511 Patch Box at G68ADV.

G68 configuration:
- 8K's and center 5.5HC set to "Large".
- Side 5K's and Rear 5.5k's set to "Small".

SW5500 Digital Channel Selector:
- Set to "2" per instructions produces no sound?
- Set to 1+2 does produce sound, adjustable Low Pass Filter engaged & functions. Phase is in + position.

The Sub performs in DSP parameters except Stereo and Direct as preferred. I would also prefer that the sub did not engage in Trifield.
By the way the SW also does not function with Digital Channel Selector set to "1" as well.

Question is this even correct, if not What is?

Would a better solution be daisy chain to side or rear slave in "small" setting?
Would Trifield DSP function without SW5500 as preferred by yours truly.

Appreciate all comments and advice in advance!

I ran a similar set up IIRC some years ago but based on 5K fronts and centre (set to small) + 2 SW1600 at the front and a SW 5500 between 5Ks at the rear. This was great for films but for music Direct was preferred although Trifield was also excellent.

Trifield DSP always enabled all 3 subs and also to rears at a considerably lower level.
I do not know of a way to achieve your preferred set up, however I am sure if it is possible someone will chip in with advice.

Thank you Hector. I will try the SW5500 in the back of the room connected to the rear 5.5K's in small setting to see what happens

If you are going to daisy chain comms and digital signal off of the rears set to small you may not have much in the way of low bass back there

I really can't see that working. Centre and sub are linked for digital output from the processor.

Problem was my bad of course. I had Center Com out and Center Digital out to Sub Comm in and Digital in and then Sub Com out to 511 Patch. This was not correct.

Both Center Comm Out and Sub Comm Out should independtly return to 511 patch. Now Sub performs correctly at setting 2.

Appreciate the input from all.
