For whatever reason I had a CD stay in the CD player, no amount of shaking sideways or upside down, or turning power on and off and repeatedly opening and closing tray released the CD, wisely or not I took all the screws out slid back the casing, uncoupled the front facia and removed front plate that holds the tray mechanism in place.

After some slight playing with the opening and closing toggle the CD was released and came out easily.
Put everything back in order, but when I powered the CD player back up, all the screen displayed was a series of iiiiiiii's, and turning off and on gave some variation of the same.

Presumably disconnecting the front facia and its lead has had some impact but reading manual gave no clue how this can be fixed, even if this is an easy fix may have to send it to get looked as to why the CD jammed in the first place and hopefully preventing repeat.

Any advice would be appreciated,
Gerard

Are you sure you connected the front panel correctly. From memory the connector is not keyed so it is possible to get this wrong.

Did you take any photos to refer to when disassembling?
