Hi!

I have had my UHD722 almost two months now. It replaced my HD621. That unit did not display any problems, and I have not changed anything else in my picture/audio chain.

After a couple of days I got a pink ”film” over the picture when starting my Apple TV 4th gen. I switched to my blu-ray port (Oppo-105) and the pink ”film” is still there.

I have rebooted my Apple TV, Oppo, 861v8, UHD722 and my JVC-X7500 and the pink ”film” always there. The only thing that works is if I manually turn off the power on the back of the UHD722 and then turn it back on. This works every time.

I get this problem around once/week.

Does anyone have the same problem? Should I notify Meridian to maybe get a update to fix this?

There is a firmware update for the UHD722, has yours been updated since you purchased it?

I have a similar issue using an LG OLED. Completely random and only cleared by hard power cycle of the UHD722. It's still present after the latest firmware update.

Thinking it could be cables I also replaced them with Audioquest HDMI (as recommedned by Meridian) but to no effect. It's very annoying but I'm learning to live with it

Haven't seen this yet on my (1 week old) UHD722 & really hope I don't : I used to see this regularly with my HD621 and the only solution was not only a power disconnect but a HDMI cable removal - seemed to be related to the HDCP handshake & it 'upset' all the devices in the chain.
My UHD722 is on the very latest firmware.

Hi,

I had similar problems (and others) with my 722 and Sony 55X8509. Rick of Audio Images advised me to change to a fully compliant 4k/HDR NueTec optical cable (722 to Sony TV) and also ensure my cables from my Oppo 205 and Sky Q devices to 722 were similarly using 4k complaint cables. Things improved somewhat and after further advice from Rick I powered off all devices (TV/Oppos 105 & 203 /Sky Q / 722) and powered on again and since then have had no problems. Not upgraded the firmware yet.

Cheers
Bob

The files are not available online. You use Winfup to load the firmware.

I'm getting this issue about twice a week. I have to reboot my gear Apple TV 4K, G65, Sony A1E, Oppo 203 than everything returns to normal or sometimes I don't have picture on the Apple TV 4K after the reboot I would have to reseat its HDMI connection. I have the latest update and my dealer has reported this to Meridian. I hope Meridian issues a fix to this soon it's pretty annoying to have to constantly reboot. Never had this issue with my HD HD621.

Really getting a bit sick of this over-sensitivity to cabling, power-cycles etc. and whatever happened to 'backwards compatibility'?

I just tried watching the 25th Anniversary Hall of Fame Awards Anniversary on Bluray from an Oppo 103 BD player. After the first 20-30 minutes the picture cuts out (snow) and/or screen turns to green (obvious handshake problem)! I got so pi$$ed off with it I eventually killed the screen and just listened to the audio.

Surely, 1080p playback should just happen regardless of which HDMI cable is used?

Disappointing indeed, I thought the worst was over with Oppo-203 UHD player ... I upgraded the HDMI Video cable (Nuetec) then I remembered that the problem only stopped because I connected the 203 output directly to the TV with Audio going via UHD722 cry

With the Apple TV 4k, it plays fine once it gets going but at launch it triggers an 'Invalid Format' warning from my LG OLED TV and is only cured by a complete reset.

Still hoping for a firmware update miracle.
