I have a 518 lying unused which I see no reason to keep any more.

I don't have an original M box for it, but of course will package sufficiently.

Any interest?

Bump, and no, AFAIK 518 are linear PSU and this is the 240v version.

The transformer has twin primary windings and can be wired in series (220-240v) or parallel (110-120v); so they can be changed, but it has to be rewired. I have done this on a couple of 500 series products.

All the best,
Steve

Andrew,

From a thread all the way back in the year 2000...

We have not found any audible advantage of placing a 518 in front of a 568."
Don't forget that the 518 can be useful for adjusting the gain which the 568 cannot do. My take was that the 568 employed some of the technology/capability of the 518 but did not give the flexibility.

Having said all of that, only you can judge whether it impacts SQ.

518 does not do 96/24 etc so may limit what media will benefit.

I use mine solely to bring Sky, Amazon Fire, etc. up to full scale digital (using the gain feature). Works very well, but I'd far rather that Meridian had implemented digital gain in its processors.
