Well this this makes a mockery of some hi-fi testing and/or assertions surely. Personally, I'm a Yanny.

Depending on how fast it’s played - normal speed I'm a yanny but could be a laurel when played at wrong speed - see tweet further down.

OMG.

I've just gone back to it after a couple of hours and I now hear Laurel. Same seat, computer, and headphones. Just couple of hours later.

This may back up my own personal observations that my hearing can vary dramatically at different times of the day - always best first thing in the morning - far better than any upgrade that I have ever done.

As Duncan says, makes a mockery of some testing.

Or someone could just be pointing the tweet to an audio file that changes randomly between the two...

[edit]And now two hours later, I'm back to Yanny

Well, I heard this on BBC 5 Live earlier and it was Laurel via my Bluesound Pulse. Now via the link and explorer 2, it’s Yannie.

Yanny has not been heard here via my mac. However the pigeons nesting in the Laurel clearly state that "My Toes Bleeding Betty"

Ok, It’s Laurel on BBC 5 Live and then quick to the link above and it’s also Laurel. It was Yanny earlier... MQA anyone?

My 1990's Readers Digest free headphones here at work and carp Dell soundcard doesn't do MQA - so it can't be that.

Ok I played it to SWMBO and we both heard Yanny. Now; I played it again and I hear Laurel and SWMBO swears it’s still Yanny.

Apparently people with high frequency bias hear Yanny, those with low frequency bias hear Laurel.

Not sure what it means for us that hear different version at different times.

Hearing changes measurably through the day, and is affected by tiredness. So I've been told.

Yanny, btw.

I hear Laurel, my other half hears Yanny. It seems likely that there will be other Yanny\Laurel analogues in music. I wonder if a ‘Yanny’ person likes different HiFi system sound to a ‘Laurel’ person.

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

Another one... You can hear the words ‘Brainstorm’ or ‘Green Needle’ based on which word you think about.

I couldn't - I just heard Brainstorm no matter what I thought.

I can switch between those two.
And today I played the YvL to some folk and heard Laurel for the first time. Go figure.

I had posted this in a another thread but was deleted rather than simply merge it into this one.

This site has a slider to adjust gradually towards Yanny or Laurel.

They not changing the speed it's played at, they are increasing/decreasing High or Low frequencies.

I'm in Laurel camp I hear both at the 2nd to last step and all Yanny on the last step.

So your definition of “adjust” my “original” means you delete it, and I write a new one?

Thanks for the PM that you “pulled” it.
