I cannot import (Add Album To My Library) a TIDAL album.

The work in question is the live album "The World" by PFM Premiata Forneria Marconi.

The album appears in my TIDAL application but without cover art. I have favourite both album and artist. The album may be found using Control:PC via TIDAL->My Library->My Favourites->Albums and via the Artists route.

I click on Add Album to Library but it does not stick.

The other four albums by this artist (A Ghost, Un Minuto, Un Amico, Un'Isola *) have all been added successfully.

The metadata shown for the album in TIDAL is also wrong, the first track actually being 10+ minutes.

Any thoughts or alternative experiences?

* BTW, for fans of Italian prog rock, these albums are gold dust. Superb live performances in excellent sound quality.

Hi Ratbert,

thanks for that.

You have cover art and the correct running time too. I guess Roon somehow reconstructs the metadata while Sooloos cannot recognise the album?

Have raised a bug with TIDAL to see what they say.

Hope you enjoyed the music. The English lyrics are not great; the original Italian lyrics are sung on Un'Isola except for "The World became the World" which is "Impressioni di settembre" from the album Un Minuto.

Another Tidal "Paradox"
I can access Neil Young Original Film Score "Paradox" on Tidal from my Mac and it plays.
However, having Favourited the album it appears in Tidal favourites in Sooloos but when I attempt to play it message is Album released on 04/20/2018.
Such a clever album title, Absurd mad

@Hector...

I too have Paradox favourited in TIDAL.

Found it under Control:PC using Search->Albums and it plays MQA 192kHz 24bit.

Found it via My Favourites->Albums but cannot add it to my library - same behaviour as the PFM album above.

Where did you get the message appear?

My TIDAL album info states Paradox was released 2018-3-23.

Hi Gianni
I will call and explain, it will be easier.
After our discussion I can confirm that I can play album Paradox using Control:Mac but not from C15 Tidal Favourites/ Albums

Curiouser and curiouser...

Hector and I just did some phone-based diagnostics.

I can perform Control:PC "Add Album to Library" with Paradox but it then stills offers that option afterwards (i.e. I cannot then "Remove Album from Library" in Control:PC - the album does appear in my Touch:PC interface and I can delete it there.

This is different from the experience with PFM Premiata Marconi Forneria's "The World" where the album does not appear in Touch:PC

Then tried the process with a very obscure album: Sirio 2222 by Il Balletto di Bronzo. The album was already favourited in TIDAL and had been added to my library. I removed the album from my Sooloos library and unfavourited it in TIDAL, then reversed the steps. Again I can "Add" the album but cannot "Remove" it under Control:PC while I can both see and removed it via Touch:PC. This is consistent with Paradox (how ironic).

The above experiences can in no way be seen as a controlled experiment, they are more empirical experiences. But there does appear to be a bug/undocumented feature/asynchronicity occurring between TIDAL, Control:PC and Touch:PC for some albums in some setups...

As an aside my Sooloos core has been up for over 36 days - is this a long time and could there be a memory overload/corruption occurring?

My MD600 restarted itself this morning and the problem remains - so that possibility seems to be excluded.

I am surprised that others here have not encountered this issue.

I bought the PFM album "The World" on CD.

It was not recognised by Sooloos when I imported it so I had to build the metadata manually.

This suggests three things to me:

(i) that Sooloos uses its own metadata sources for albums imported from TIDAL and does not import that metadata directly from TIDAL,

(ii) that TIDAL and Sooloos perhaps source their metadata from the same place (since TIDAL also has very poor metadata for the album),

(iii) that one cannot add a TIDAL album to one's library if Sooloos cannot find the metadata relating to it.

The version of "Impressioni di Settembre/The World Became The World" on this album is superb.
