Hello all together,

I'm planning to migrate to a Roon Nucleus+.
I ripped most of my CDs with dBpoweramp, not with my C15.
What is the best way to prepare the migration?

Exporting my database in native format or using the original dBpoweramp-Rip I have saved on a separate PC?

Does the native export add any additional information from my C15-data (genres, credits, play counts, ...)?

Thank you for your help and tips in advance.

Use the dBpoweramp rips. Native export from Sooloos adds no metadata.

Thank you for the tips. I thought that some additional informations would be exported.
Ok, I can handle it using my dBpa rip.
All the best

As an interesting aside if you have a Sooloos library and your system dies you can copy the Sooloos files from the original disk or connect the disk if it is ok to a Pc or if they were on a NAS do nothing then just point Roon to.

The files (albums) should then be seen by Roon, then if you set up an export destination you can export all those files and they will be back in readable artist/album/track format rather than Sooloos format.

I just did this successfully for someone so it definitely works, corner case scenario I know but may be useful to someone?

Pointing Roon at the Sooloos files, ok when needs must. However, the Roonlabs recommended workflow is to use Sooloos and generate a native export... and then point Roon at the export. Using this workflow increases the odds of Roon identifying more albums.

Carl

I agree completely and that is what I did, but if you are stuck as described then this is an option.
