Just found this out the hard way when my Homeland ep2 didn't record mad Had to watch it via catch up app on my Fire box - dreadful quality!

I suppose a Freeview box is the only non-subscription option?

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

This was reported, it’s the HD channel. I don’t watch it so can’t enlighten any more. Opps, I got that wrong, I think Freeview have also lost a Chanel recently.

The All4 picture and sound quality are disgraceful - I watched one episode of Maltese and gave up. It would be preferable to watch on VHS or analogue TV.

While I appreciate that some people do not want to pay Sky for TV services, a minimum subscription could work out better VFM than buying a decent Freeview recorder (if such a thing exists - they all seem to be unreliable and flaky based on internet feedback).

OTOH, if you have someone aged 15-21 in the house they will no doubt be able to direct you to other options...

That explains why I've lost the rugby highlights as well.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

You may be right but I was hoping not to take on another subscription (and especially anything the Murdochs have a hand in). I'm leaning towards one of the better Freeview boxes.

Channel 4 have withdrawn their HD feed. The SD feed of C4 remains on Freesat.

I’ve just started ripping 4k BRs - I don’t do SD wink

I have an "other satellite Tuning Menu" option on my Panasonic TV. Channel 4HD is still showing there on channel 298. I have to use "Other sat." on the TV selection instead of freesat.

Interesting, thanks. On my box there doesn't seem to be an easy way to switch between the two modes, so I'm not sure it's practical solution. I'll have another play though.

Hmm. I wonder if this would work on a Sky+HD box? I was planning to remove my multi-room subscription and live with the basic channels, but the loss of 4HD would be a PITA.

Looks like 4HD is ok. All4 can disappear as far as I’m concerned.
