Agree. However, 5V is common to many USB powered devices.

Anyone tried these for units that take power and signal together over USB ?

I think the point is that you’ve discovered clean DC can improve sound (as opposed to AC being “conditioned “). The boards in DSPs are using DC, so, if they had cleaner DC, would they sound better?

After all, Meridian were fairly late to the linear supply party. I wonder if there’s anything else they “missed”.

I thought 500 series had linear power supplies?

GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 218 zone... (Thanks Russ) Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2 and Mini. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos.

I power my MS200 from my speakers. Would this still improve the sound or do the speakers override the power somehow?

Just to confirm that the latest iFi units DO contain a few USB fittings. 100%... just received.

I must chase Des on my question on whether a Prime power supply at 12v 0.5A (iirc) could supply a Pi at 5v via a voltage conversion. On paper, 12v @ 0.5A converted to 5v wont be enough to supply a Pi but in practice, what is true capacity of Prime output and what is a reasonable power requirements of a Pi?

That's a Q for M re true Prime output (if it can power an AC200 then would it not supply a Pi) and for someone with one of those USB power meters to see true draw of a Pi.

Was that the 5 volt version?
