I've recently changed my iPhone4S for an iPhoneSE, but this was incapable of docking with my existing Sony Clock Radio. Subsequently, I've been testing various clock radios with external phone charging abilities - and with decent audio. This isn't a given, whatever your budget.

I eventually bought one directly from Ruark Audio. The retail price is insane for a clock radio (£220), but the audio quality on offer from the likes of Roberts and Sony just didn't cut the mustard.

I didn't pay retail, but bought one of their 'graded' products for £176 (including shipping). There's nothing 'graded' about it: it's no different in quality and packaging to the full retail offering.

I can thoroughly recommend it.

As an aside, Ruark also offer a modern version of the Radiogram. With their additional Audio Mount it can double-up as your television sound bar.

My Mac can go all the way to XI - Mac user since 1988.

I’ve got a pair of Ruark Solstice speakers I bought 20 years ago. Still sound great.
