On researching new audio purchase options, I’ve been looking into QUAD - and their Artera components.

I thought it telling that QUAD offer an MQA board upgrade/swap for their existing Artera preamp, when Meridian appear incapable in offering a similar upgrade option.

Meridian provide full MQA capability on every stereo component with analogue outputs currently in production with the exception of the MS200 and MS600 (which arguably have been replaced by the 218). It was a free software upgrade for the 818v3 and 808v6.

True but misses the point. It would be great to hear more from Meridian on this even if it’s all bad news.
At least we would know. At the moment we just assume we have all been left behind. I can live with it but it would be nice to be told.
G series MQA in stereo mode would be nice. Not holding my breath though.

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall.

The QUAD equipment @spinaltap referenced is stereo and analogue so comparing apples with apples.

But I entirely agree that news about MQA capability on current or future multi-channel products would be very welcome. Not holding any expectations for G6x products though. Perhaps CES...

With or without MQA - the Artera kit sounds terrific!

We have it here on demo, pound for pound, the build quality alone leaves other Hi Fi equipment way behind!

In silver the Play & power look very striking!
