Hoping for some thoughts from some existing owners of LG OLED TVs and HD621.

I'm not quite sure which way round to connect it up, and was looking to tap into your experiences.
Right now, I have 5 HDMI sources (BD player, Roku, PS3, Xbox and RaspPi). My HD621 collates that lot, outputs audio to the 861 and video to my projector.

The projector is going to be replaced with an LG OLED.
It appears that I could:
1. Simply connect the HDMI currently in the side of my projector, into the back of the TV. That's easy, but prevents me from using Netflix HD and similar
2. Connect the video sources directly to the TV, take an audio out via HDMI from the TV into the HD621, then audio onto the 861. I'm conscious that this restricts the number of HDMI inputs to the TVs (but then it does have Netflix built in to the model I'm looking at) and might have handshake issues from HDMI out to the HD621.

Thoughts?

Option 2 may throw up problems - if only a lack of HDMI inputs. You could buy a relatively inexpensive additional Netflix source for plugging into the HD621 (e.g the new Amazon Fire TV).

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

I have actually taken the optical out from TV and plugged it straight into my 861. Obviously this is not ideal if the audio from Netflix and Amazon are of high quality. But if it is normal Dolby Digital fare than it should be adequate.

Thanks, Edd

I find the Dolby Digital from Netflix (via an Apple TV3) to be much better than that from Sky. My early version Amazon Fire cannot support Dolby Digital via optical, not tried via HDMI.

Wonderful perfect quadraphonic sound with distortion levels so low as to make a brave man weep smile
