Of course it’s not an issue with MQA encoded audio with the 218 driving either analogue or SE DSPs speakers hooked up to to the 218.
It’s by design to make MQA/SE DSP final unfolding appear to be the only way to get “Hi-Res” (192/384) and sell more hardware and licenses.

I agree the hiface 2 is a nice unit, but that Reviewer isn’t the brightest bulb in the room. He thinks he is comparing USB to Coax when he is really comparing one brand of USB to Another Brand (and possibly making things worse going through coax in one configuration). Hiface could still improve his setup, but it’s not because coax is better than USB. He is using USB in both setups.
