Hi All

If Roon was a little too involved in its setup compared to Sooloos then you may be interested in the soon to be released Roon core hardware.

Hopefully, for those prices, at least 1 year's Roon subscription is included

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

Just remind yourself of the price of entry for Sooloos... it's all relative.

Is Sooloos a comparable business model? I would have thought if Roon could lure people into its subscription-based model with attractively priced hardware, it would be a good move.

Very true Ian although you just buy one Roon licence, with Sooloos you have/had no option where all the following came with a Sooloos licence factored into the price.

I like many others had multiple devices capable of running core and ended up using just one of them to do so.

Ensemble
MD600
C10/C15
MC200
MC600

All a matter of choice I guess.

Both Nucleus versions are outside what I'd be willing to pay for the respective spec's to be honest.

Paul

Me too, I just put an i7 NUC together which has a better spec for a lot less although it is not fanless like the Roon option.

Now people have a choice of hardware and whether they want to build it themselves or have it done for them, I think it will sell well.

You know, I think Meridian should have done this with Sooloos
