Is it possible to include the label names?

Doh! It seems like my favourite MQA album, Christine and the Queens: Chaleur Humaine (Deluxe Edition) has been removed from Tidal.
Any idea why? Is this a common occurrence?

The Babylon Berlin soundtrack album was available in MQA in the UK and now is not.

Very frustrating.

Wonderful perfect quadraphonic sound with distortion levels so low as to make a brave man weep smile

I've just bought Frank Sinatra's Watertown on CD, because it was pulled first from the UK and then from the US. It seems that the MQA is not even available for download purchase.

I see Dire Straits in MQA is finally coming out, it will be interesting to see how it sounds when it arrives (June I think).

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I heard ages ago that it's had the full white glove treatment, including compensation for the (multiple) ADC and DAC stages during production.

Edit: Bob played it (or an early version of it) at Munich either last year or perhaps even two years ago. The report I got back was "it sounded like hi-res for the first time".

I was just looking on Tidal last night to see if DS had been updated to MQA. Will be interested to hear the white glove version!

I find this a fascinating example of what "white glove" might involve.

IIRC the Madonna album was also challenging but for different reasons.

There are some albums, like Love Over Gold and Brothers in Arms that don't ever achieve the performance that their legendary status would suggest. Hopefully these will come in time AND deliver better results.

FWIW - I would still really like the Metallica album too.

Nick

As I recall this was the stand out track at the MQA demonstration at Meridian West London and obviously chosen as it was so good, an Ella Fitzgerald track too if memory serves?

Interesting. I've love more detail on some of these processes, I find this kind of restoration absolutely fascinating (in film as well as audio).

Which Madonna album was it? I was listening to some of her early albums MQA'd last night. Never heard them better I must say.

I notice at the bottom of that article, they have a download link to purchase the MQA album. I've not seen much MQA available, even albums which have been on Tidal a while now. Has anyone found a good source of these?

Russ, yes. It was the standout for me as it was just so much more credible to listen to than the DVDA hi-res that I think you have too.

I can't recall the specific Madonna album just now. One of the early ones (Madonna or Like a Virgin). It was written about in another place IIRC and the issues were the different tracks (i.e. 24 track, 48 tracks etc) that were different sample rates.
