I'm surprised the Board Rules don't include a no politics clause. It reflects well on this community that it's been able to avoid the political abyss without such a rule. I know other forums that have the rule but still go off the rails every few months.

With this forum having world wide membership, I'm very interested in hearing the political opinions and perspectives of others. There have been links to some very thought provoking articles posted, which I appreciate. As long as it remains civil, which I've no doubt it will do here, I support such discussions in the Off Topic area.

Cheers

George

Anyway, Clinton or Trump, it is a non issue anyway.

Baba Vanga said the 44th US president would be black, and an economic collapse and a US civil war would stop the new president from taking over.

And let's face it, she has got sod all else wrong so far.

So ... swings and roundabouts. laugh

And here is the last time I think our government was truly working, Clinton and Gingrich. Truly divided government but it worked. Clinton got stuff done because he was smart enough to work with Gingrich and vice versa.

Obama famously quipped, "You lost. You need to ride in the back." There was no interest in compromise or cooperation on his side either and his ideological lurch to the left didn't help. That's why the last six years has been littered with his executive orders.

Let's see what the Republicans do. Against their will, they have a converted Democratic businessman who can also wheel and deal. We have a seriously divided citizenry. If Congress and Trump can gently guide us back to the center over the next two years, there is a chance that this can go well. Left wingers and right wingers don't want to hear it, but that is what this country needs.

+1 on all that.
