We also had some non-serious thoughts about going for the evoque. And also a friend land rover owner who warned us about the reliability. The jury is out on the E* but will be interesting if Land Rover did work on the reliability issues for this 2012 generation. I sure hope so.

BUT, if I had the option of maxing out on a Trifield Meridian system in a car I would probably do it if I had the main driving time of it. If she would use it I would probably go with the sunroof and not think about it anymore.

I've heard the standard Evoque ICE and it was good. I wasn't totally blown away, but then this was streaming mp3s from an iPhone over bluetooth, so hardly Sooloos as a source.

I tend to agree with the comments above about it being just a car. On a sunny day with the roof/window open and so on are you really going to notice the difference?

Depends how much is the upgrade is though I suppose.

+1 on reliability. We have a Freelander!

When I was at the Evoque launch I seem to remember that you could buy a 'luxury pack', or something like that, which included the sunroof AND the Meridian upgraded sound system.

Sounds like a perfect solution!

Cheers,

Rick

I doubt you'll find an Ethernet cable long enough to do this in the Evoque...

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I was looking at the Evoque range online and noticed that there were some 2 wheel drive models. How are they going to be able to mount the pavement to park?

I went panoramic roof (plus titanium alloys).

I need some new DSP's at home anyway, funds better spent that way I think.

I still think the regular ICE will handle anything the iPhone throws at it.

Setup: not much anymore, really. but things might change

Thanks for the input though. I was struggling with my conscience all morning, at least with the panoramic roof we'll be able to see all the bird poo in all its glory.

We actually live up a 300 metre dirt track, so looked at options. Looked at used LR sport and the Toyota Land cruiser ad nauseum. Mrs saw the evoque and that was it, shopping over. We speced up on the SD4 auto with dynamic mode control, so it better not bl**dy break down after a week!
