Being a bit of a car enthusiast, I've read an 18 page report on the new McLaren MP-12c in the UK magazine called EVO............this was by far the biggest and most comprehensive review

Likewise, I've read the Reviews, First Drives and Comparisons in Autocar, Top Gear, and Car

I've also scrolled thru the US Reviews in Car & Driver, Road & Track and Automobile as well as the Robb Report

By co-incidence, the Range Rover Evoque has also received some write ups in these mags around the same time

Most of this reading was using the Zinio app, which allows Text Searches............

So, all in all, probably over 100 Pages read...........and amazingly NOT ONE MENTION of Meridian.......Nada, nothing what-so-ever!!!!

Certainly makes you wonder about these new "Luxury" directions

I take the point you're making, but perhaps M are primarily concerned with connecting with the people who actually buy the car, rather than the wider audience of those who read the reviews in car magazines?

I heard that Jenson Button said the best thing about the MP12-C was the Meridian stereo. He apparently is an existing Meridian owner.

Do people actually READ magazines like this? Do they actually buy them?

I think it's aimed at people who produce luxury goods, rather than those who consume - or aspire to consume - them.

I agree Ronnie. I think it makes sense to put a Meridian system in a Land Rover product- both British and a truck has space and won't really be too badly hurt by the weight penalty a good sound system would require. However, in the McLaren, Ron Dennis and crew are very serious about weight reduction and I think the whole idea of the Meridian system gets lost there- unless Meridian are doing some things to help reduce weight.

Best regards,
Jerry
