I only use the CO3 to get the output from my mac to the 518.

Optical from Mac to CO3 0.6m lead; CO3 to 518 via 10m AES/EBU in the walls; 518 to 568.

If you already have a 518, just use the optical input and the electrical SPDIF output.

Steve.

Sadly the iMac and the 518 are in different rooms.

I have spare pair of DSP3100s that I was going to use with the iMac.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

dpstjp,
Sorry you didn't win one - but thanks for recounting your story here as I now know that you can get Quidco on eBay purchases.

I'd be interested to know where you can get a new CO2 for 25, for future reference. I paid 45 inc VAT & shipping for mine from studiospares and in most places it seems to be over 60 still.

Duncan,

I mistook the current bid on a C02 for a final bid, my fault.

If you are using eBay and Quidco I have discovered (to my considerable cost) that you need to log out of eBay, then log in again via Quidco to make sure that the purchase has a chance of tracking. I still have a number of deals on eBay not tracked to Summer last year (including my ludicrously priced M2351 purchase) that might never get their rebate.

I have also learnt today that if Quidco is down then the marginal saving of using Quidco is not as much as getting the item you wanted if it is in finite supply when the auction concerned requires you to pay immediately...

Thx for the tip. I didn't log out of eBay when I made a purchase just now, but did launch it a 2nd time in a separate window via the Quidco website so let's see if that tracks. If not, I'll have my probably cause...

It appears to be the payment that counts, not the bid, with Quidco. Problem arises when the two are forced to coincide.

Well my 518 turns up on Sunday, so hopefully I'll find out what to use it for eventually.
