I have for a while been wondering how best to play with Atmos and the like while retaining my excellent Meridian equipment. I have found a solution and I had intended to post about it on this Systems forum but Robert Wistrela (the admirable Robert of Reviver fame) raised a question about the 271 on the Streaming forum and I sort of stumbled into explaining what I have done in that forum even though streaming is only one feature and wasn't my main motivation.

So, since I have posted some relevant pictures on the Gallery (which I never look at routinely and I suspect many other people do not), and because I know this is a topic which understandably troubles many of us, I thought I should place this cross referencing post on what I always think of as the main forum of Meridian Unplugged.

If you are interested in Atmos and other immersive codecs together with your Meridian equipment do have a read of Robert's '271 Display' thread on the Streaming forum and also have a look at my post in the Gallery.

Thanks to Ian for making the pictures immediately available and also to Not'arf for the link to the Gallery as this also allows easy access to my text. Carl, you always quite rightly encourage us to read your guidance notes and I apologise for being lazy. The trouble is that I need pictures so rarely that I know I will immediately forget how to do it so I am being a poor Member. I will try harder next time.

Hi,
I agree image support on this forum could be better but it is what it is we are limited by the functionality of UBB software, which frankly is looking tired.

In practise the Gallery is only really there only to host uploaded images, with any associated discussion taking place in one of the main forum areas with links that reference the topic in the gallery or more typically using IMG tags so images themselves are directly displayed. As you can see from Ian's post above (thanks Ian for doing that), once done it very convenient to the reader.

I think I've pointed you to "how to guide" before which is listed at the top of each forum section ... or use this direct link Embedding weblinks and images in posts - How to Guide.

Admittedly it takes a little effort on the part of the author but one soon get the hand of it. If you wish to practise try sending yourself a PM or even to me if you wish.
If you get stuck drop me a line.

Regards,
Carl
