Gary,

Got your pM last night saying you still cannot find the numbers!

To help me and any other future purchases that may be offered on these forums please can you clarify how you would handle the following situation.

You send goods out to the UK and they never arrive.
You have no record of any tracking for that item.
How quickly will you make a full refund?
Can you assure me and others tat you would make a 100% refund.
Normally there would be an "X days" before the postal service would accept a lost item claim. However here of course that would be irrelevant if you have no record to start with!!

Thanks

Martin

Martin, no refund at all, I would work with the buyer to get them another unit of what they ordered and ship it out ASAP

I have never had this happen in 5+ years for the record

if the buyer is concerned with lost packages then I would suggest EMS with insurance, but be prepared to be hit with full customs charges

9 out of 10 buyers that purchase from me overseas will say something along these lines when ordering

"please ship via a semi quick service and do not insure, I will take responsibility if the item is lost and I didn't purchase fast service and/or insurance"

what I don't understand Martin is why this is being discussed in the Oppo powerbuy thread anyway? I am confused as to why you are copying and pasting replies from the Edge thread to this one? and last time I checked it looks like your item is going to arrive

I understand you may not be happy with the duties due, but I did my best to help you out, no point in posting it in every thread I have here to try and get me somehow

anyone who buys stuff from me overseas knows that some duties may be due, my original comment was little or no duties due with my shipments and I stand by that

thanks

You will see I stated i was not upset or surprised by the charges as there can be no guarantee.

My issue has been with your response to questions.

I suggest any future purchasers bear in mind some points which can all be confirmed by reading this thread.

I am not trying to "get you" you have managed that for yourself.

I have ordered many items from the States and well versed with the pros/cons, but not EVERYONE is.

So

You satated USPS EMS, but you used a cheaper priority mail service. No, you did not answer that satisfactorily.
said no tracking to the UK with this service? not the case, it is just more limited 'till the item arrives in the UK, then that number changes and can be tracked here. I have shown you this.
You promised "customs numbers" for over 10 days. Nothing.
It has been your wriggling to the above that I have found difficuilt to understand.

If you are new to ordering outside your country of residence, be sure you have a full understanding of items travelling under insured.
Gary does try to limit your fees, but understand the risks.

Apologies to George Mills for duplicating posts in the Oppo thread.

I felt these points are important to future potential sales of this kind?
George feels people can read this thread to be informed, but this will slide away further down the page order with time.

USPS did not give me any tracking #'s for the shipments, they told me that the customs #'s were useless for the buyers, now if that is not that case then I am sorry, of course USPS could give bad info now and then, wouldn't be the first time, I just started using priority mail overseas recently as customers were informing me to do this vs EMS as the customs people eat them alive with the later, EMS has a fabulous tracking system for the record

we went over this before, people were complaining with the prices, so I decided to go priority over EMS thus lowering the final price, I also ate over 10$ on every shipment overseas because I only charged like 45$, additionally had I gone EMS you would have been looking at much higher customs duties, so basically I don't understand your complaints, you got your item, fairly quickly after shipment and at a reduced cost

I will never be able to answer your questions to satisfy you because they are gotchas that will never get a answer good enough for you, it's very hard not to wriggle when someone blasts you constantly with questions that contort you every way possible, I have answered them over and over again and it really makes me wonder if their really is a pursuit of the truth here being that this thread was copied and pasted over to another sale post of mine, that was uncalled for

all your concerns have been answered, if you don't like the answers I can't help that Martin, I might also add that nor does everyone agree with you for the record, most people here feel that I have been very up front and honest and answered the questions and in the end appreciate my attempts at getting the prices as low as possible while balancing some form of quickness in shipping choices

this will be my last response to this subject with you, if you need any help with the Edge or setup or have any questions please feel free to post and I will be happy to help, going round and around with you on this subject is literally wasting time that I could be using to get other folks orders out the door

finally I might add that as a result of this I am offering buyers the choice of EMS or priority mail shipping on future purchases and being that the customer now decides how he wants to ship(versus me) I am not going to try and eat some of the shipping charges because it is obviously not appreciated by some

thanks a bunch, appreciate it [/quote]

Gary you have made yourself look foolish with those comments.
I will not comment further after this post either.

Of course some are happy and would not agree with me, they got theirs in a timely fashion and enjoyed the "no extra charges"

I am pleased for those fellow hitchhikers and would not have made as many comments if you had given Straight answers rather than curve ball or no answer at all.

You did not inform me or anyone else (the UK based people) that the postage had changed from what you have stated on THIS thread, it is you that is having trouble understanding that and accepting it. If others moaned and you told me you had changed it OK, but you didn't!
As for other issues of your statements of "I do loads of sales to te UK" I do not doubt you do, but I do not accept that you do not have a full understanding of the postal systems you use!

Hopefully mine arrives today following sorting the modest cost incurred.

If the item gets lost, are you sure you will get this "full value"? Remember, it's an insurance company you're dealing with (the workers there are Diablo's minions and Lucifer is the accountant)... It may be perfectly alright for you to *pay* for full insurance, ten times higher than the declared customs value. It may pose difficult to get *them* to pay more than customs value when the item is lost.

I have no experience at all with lost items on UPS shipping, but some with Diablo's minions...

Gary,

This was the tracking number when originating in the States

CP05 1977 245U S

Usung www.usps.com reveals all info.

Also, the way it works here in the UK is if you type that originating US code into parcelforce.com ensuring you check the incoming international parcel box(The UK end for this service) it will show the new UK number once it has arrived into the UK. Before it arrives here it will show nothing, but as you can see, you can use the USPS site initially.

http://www.parcelforce.com/portal/p...keyname=track_blank&_requestid=48890

Just thought you would like to know as I think it will help you for future shipments to the UK ONLY cool

Martin

No experience with a claim, I'm sure it would be a lot of fun though.
