Thanks for the reply and your kind offer of free labour costs should the need arise. Were you to be based in the UK I would have no hesitation in ordering an Oppo but being US based does give me some concern. We are talking of a modified region free player which would cost in the region of �1000 taking delivery into account and at that level I could purchase a very good Bluray player in the UK with a discount, albeit without digital audio output. The big question is 'how good would the analogue multi-channel output be vs digital'? Buying in the UK gives warranty and local support. What I find most disappointing in the whole area of digital mods. is the number of people within the UK who in other threads have indicated the possibility of cheaper alternatives all of which seem to have died of death!!

So...To take the chance or not to take the chance?...that is the question
