Some of us already have the 4xSPDIF so thats why I ask about the vp.

The vp is not free. If you compare to a octava.

My thoughts are this might be the most stable HDMI solution as far as working with most sources and displays. Due to past reputation and volume of dvdo products.

Will it allow playing audio with display off?
