I can't read all this now but I just want to say thank you to Rick and Mark and anyone else sharing information. Its very appreciated.

IMHO: This is a great solution and it sounds like what we've wanted. I like Mark's take- think of it more as an HDMI processor and less a simple switch box with a M logo on it. Meridian has made some- shall we say- rather interesting moves over the past few years- but their expertise in audio has never been in question and I do not believe they will put out a sub par product in terms of delivering. If I wanted to add these high res formats to my 861 today, Id need an analog card- what does that cost? The ~$2500 for a new HDMI processor is really not so bad all things considered.
