I downloaded all the updated software to my trusty Win98 laptop (with real serial port!). I then successfully uploaded the new firmware to my G68 and G98 using WinFup and the appropriate .mfp files with no connection problems.

I thought I would then make a small change to my setup, loaded MConfig and tried a fetch from the G68. This resulted in an "access violation" causing a lockup.

I rebooted and disabled all the unnecessary programs (like virus protection, wireless connections ...) running on startup so just the basics were running. I then tried MConfig uploading my existing setup file with a similar result.

Another reboot and retry and MConfig produces the following message immediately you click on "Store G68XXV Settings" on the breadcrumb trail (you don't have to click Start):

"Access Violation 059a01a [trans_func=00427c40][error reading ffffffff]"

It never did this before. mad Fortunately my system still works OK (I think) but I can't update it by PC. Canb you roll back MConfig?
