Well the days of an ancient laptop with a USB DAC/DDC are over. MS200 is now the endpoint for my main system. Previous was a Topping d10s as the endpoint.
I'll be doing lots of listening in the next few days but so far it's just nice to have a simple way to run Roon into the 861 - the janky laptop I was using was... janky.
main room: 861v4, 2x6000L/R (24/96) 1x5500HC (24/96), 2x DSP33(Rears)

Just an update to this. The MS200 is a major improvement over the D10s - as you might expect. I would say it is like going from a 568.2 to an 861. That level of jump. The highs are less glass-thin-sparkly. It is hard to tell on the bass range other than maybe a little more instrument clarity... that is to say being able to hear more detail to the point that the instrument individuality is more obvious.
For the mids… I've had to change my center channel settings quite a bit which I find odd. Has anyone else run into vocal range stuff being the most affected by changing digital source?

Can you get an ID40 for the 861, Adam?
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

AFAIK those are unobtanium and I likely would only look into a 40/41 with a v8 upgrade.
