I am sorry but as an IT professional I am staying with the objective view that bits are bits, if any of that stuff had any impact we would constantly have issues as normal datastreams are a lot bigger than the ones we need for streaming.

I am NOT saying that any of “that stuff” has any impact on reliable data transmission. Even the cheapest consumer switch will deliver packets 24/7 and not need more expensive components, such as a clock with low phase noise or an electrically quiet power supply, to do the work for which it was designed.
We are learning, however, that it wasn’t designed for high resolution audio. Please read what IT professional Dean Waters had to say, and then give us your thoughts on the role of networks in quality music reproduction. Thanks.
I don’t think anyone is saying that filtering out noise anywhere isn’t a good thing, are they? The Shunyata stuff must have some filtering going on for there to be measurable change. The point is that well designed audio equipment - which I believe Meridian speakers to be - has filters in the power supplies. And Bob Stuart made this point. Paying hundreds of pounds for mains cables is not changing anything because the filtering is done more efficiently inside the device well before an DC gets to components.
Now if Shunyata could set up a double blind listening test I’d be interested.

The main issue to do with ‘noise’ and bits is to do with jitter. The sound of jitter is audible. But current technology really has moved on in this respect and this video is very instructive

It's super easy to dismiss these videos and cry "snakeoil". "Bob S designed expensive speakers so nothing can be improved", etc etc.
My experience with Shunyata was much the same as in this video. I tried it on the mains feed just before my Ruby DSP8k (dedicated spur) and also on a dedicated ring main in the same room.
I did the cable changes and there was no slight-of-hand tricks anywhere. The reduction in noise was just as significant.
I did an extended home trial over 3 to 4 months swapping back and forth.
Each time the change was audible and repeatable. I concluded it was an improvement and not just "different"
I had the means and motivation to make these items a part of my setup and they remain so today.
As the OP, (Old Person), I am feeling good for helping bring the debate up to date. Terrific stuff guys. (It is all guys isn't it?).
We hobbyists can share our enthusiasm to explore new stuff such as using Raspberry Pi at either end of a host-target. A whole new rabbit hole for us. I dig it.
Then I’m more than happy to be part of a properly conducted double blind test with a numerically decent sample of people with good hearing and an immediate A/B switching, as well as some null testing. The null testing isn’t very hard to do. The double blind test is harder, but I think with determination it can be done.
