I brought an old Control:15 out of retirement and it is doing great but it can't seem to connect to my Napster account anymore. Has Napster finally gone the way of Tidal and no longer supports streaming on these older machines?

It's gone from Sooloos. Quit working over a year ago.

I’ll express my ignorance with this question. Is there a programming option, assuming someone has the skill, to change/update the Sooloos code so that it can access Tidal and Napster? I’m guessing it would take getting permission from Meridian and a copy of the source code. I still use Sooloos alongside Roon: Roon for new music I find on Tidal; Sooloos as my daily driver for my extant library. I still find Sooloos a better experience/interface in spite of the breadth of user parameters available from Roon. I wonder if the Roon team would be willing (for a fee) to change the old Sooloos code to work with Tidal’s newer security settings for access?

I enquired about this some time ago, and understandably, the Roon team is focused on Roon.
It is not practical to rewrite code that runs on old hardware, with limited CPU and Memory resources, old security protocols, etc.
Realistically, the best move forward is to migrate to Roon. I took a lot of convincing, but after playing with it for a month with a free trial, I was hooked, and having the Tidal integration was the added plus point. Yes, I realise it is expensive! I was fortunate to purchase it outright early on, but still have a monthly subscription to Tidal (Until an MQA service is released...) I still use most of my Sooloos hardware and have other non-Meridian endpoints.
Unfortunately, Sooloos is a dead product. Spare parts are nonexistent, and keeping old systems running can be costly and time-consuming. Sooloos was fantastic for what it did, but technology marches forward!

I was fortunate to purchase it outright early on But not an option anymore for newer users without paying a serious fee. Personally always baulked at the idea that for my own CD's ripped to a hard dive, I was then having to pay someone to play them... It is a real shame the old Sooloos product could not be made "open source" so that pesky authorization code to Tidal et al could not be fixed. I bet Claude code could fix it in a few hours.
