Here’s hoping that Roon offers the new HDTracks MQA streaming service in due course. +1 Tidal have lied to me at least twice in direct communication on this. I take a very dim view of anyone lying, but an especially dim view of a company lying to paying customers. Roon/MQA Labs def need to make this happen, it’s so key to Meridian customers in terms of MQA over ID41, etc.

To be fair, Tidal were probably unaware about MQA being a feature of the new HDTracks streaming service (which is likely exclusive to the latter provider).

Not sure Tidal deserve fair, but, they have been headed in this direction for some time so whatever new MQA do is irrelevant I suspect.

I received this announcement via email today: Tidal Dumps MQAOn July 24, 2024, we’re replacing the music in TIDAL’s MQA catalog with FLAC versions. In addition to this change, we're removing all podcasts and music available in 360 Reality Audio.

Yep, just got my confirmation of this also.
So much for their misinformation for many months that they would continue MQA alongside their FLAC, and maintain the existing MQA catalog.

Just cancelled my Tidal subscription today for the very same reason. Misleading information about how MQA would exist in paralell with other formats.

I’m waiting to see the details of the HDTracks/MQA streaming service, but will look at Tidal’s competitors if this doesn’t prove to be a valid move.

I'm still getting MQA via the Node on Tidal, but I will likely cancel Tidal once they remove the MQA content.

It would be fascinating to see the user stats before / after they stop MQA and especially if the new Len/HDT MQA service is launched. As with others above, I will cancel and move. So, I wonder if that matters at all to Tidal or not.
They dropped subs cost so I assume every user counts.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out over time.

Do you think the new service will have the same range as Tidal? If not, I'd probably prefer a larger library than MQA. (but will probably end up with two if required)
