Hi folks,
Has anyone found and successfully streamed Tidal tracks at better than 16/44 resolution into your Meridian kit? Our access is through a Roon Nucleus+. Some MQA encoded albums are still accessible (and labeled appropriately by the Roon app) but I haven’t found any of the vaunted high rez FLAC tracks that Tidal is defaulting to.

It show and plays as MQA 96 kHz on my system. Fine with me but not high rez bare FLAC.

I have no idea what's going on but Tidal seems to have messed things up badly. If I play that song with Roon it plays as MQA 24/96. If I play it with Tidal it plays as FLAC 24/96. If I play the first song in the album with Roon it plays as MQA 24/96. If I play the same song with Tidal it plays as MQA 16/44. https://tidal.com/browse/track/296734450

Hi,
I’ve found similar things.. I’m yet to successful find and play the newer hi res files.. I seem to default to MQA (not that I’m complaining as I’m happy with the MQA)

I was playing some track selections from Steven Wilson Harmony Codex which I have in my library as MQA favourite.
It toggled between MQA and MHR88 when switching between tracks. Very strange. I could find the MQA file back manually.

From my perspective and I don't mind admitting ignorance, could somebody knowledgeable out there, please explain what this is all about.
Beginning to think that I am not getting value for my money!
One simple question. What is the difference between what I had and what I now receive from Roon/Tidal with regard to MQA?
Perhaps Bob Stuart is the only person qualified to answer honestly.

What is the difference between what I had and what I now receive from Roon/Tidal with regard to MQA? You can still get some MQA files via Tidal but with the changes implemented by Tidal and Roon you now have access to less MQA and more HiRes. As soon as a HiRes version is available you no longer have access to the MQA version. Looking at what some people report it seems they have lost access to about 75% of the MQA files they had listed.
