Hi,
Setting the default volume is only available when using a controller, it the control that signals to the DSP to change when it comes out of standby.

It is possible to change the volume of DSP speakers via the MASTER speaker's RS-232 port, but that would require some form of home-automation system or a DIY approach (Raspberry Pi for example).
